The residents of Lawn Acres participated in a special Neighborhood Adventure called the "Community Cruise" held on Saturday, October 16, 2011. Residents received special passports which took them to interesting venues throughout the neighborhood.
Children enjoyed hearing stories under a big tree, transforming plastic pumpkins, and expressing their personalities in a drumming circle. Our youth helped manage the Food Court Lunch which featured original salads, hamburgers, hot dogs, cool beverages, and a variety of deserts. Everyone there got to listen to the music of DJ Fresh.
Commissioner Linda Sherwood and Bill Sherwood had a good time socializing.
The passport took people to the following presentations: Angel Card Readings; Decorating Tips; Extraordinary Gift Wrapping Tips; Organic Beauty Tips; Yin Yoga Instruction; Workout with a Fitness Guru.
The Neighborhood Adventure included a Dominoes Cafe with Latin music; an outdoor setting for a Thai cuisine demonstration and tasting; an opportunity to play croquet; plus a wine party at the end of the "Community Cruise."
