Hollywood Council of Civic Associations  - Johnson Street Pilot Project - Economic Development

Post date: Jul 12, 2012 4:31:5 PM

The Johnson Street Pilot Project revolves around having the businesses between 56th Avenue and 441 engage in enhancing the exterior areas of their properties. The official name for the stretch of territory being addressed is "The Hollywood Gardens Johnson Street Business Corridor".

The Hollywood Council of Civic Associations will be working in conjunction with the City of Hollywood and local schools to assist in this property enhancement endeavor which is scheduled for 2012-2013. Because so much economic development activity has focused on the beach and downtown, the HCCA wanted a project to be located in the western part of the city.

In the fall of 2012, an invitation will be extended to the business owners and tenants from the pilot area to launch the project. City representatives will be present to explain ways the City can support the effort with its expertise. The main categories of Curb Appeal include: Facade, Signage, Landscaping, Maintenance and Cleanliness. A Neighborhood Pride Award will be given to those businesses with measured improvements to the exterior appearance.

There is a great deal of energy and enthusiasm regarding the Johnson Street Pilot Project. Take a look at all that is going on to Mimi's properties to get sense of the spirit of revitalization in this important business corridor within the City of Hollywood near Lawn Acres.
